And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
Man who is mentally insensible
Man who is dull in understanding
Man of poor curiosity
Man who got no attention
A man who is unable to use his mind properly
Hearing and doing is the rule by which we are to walk as Christ laid down.
Jesus handed over two choices available to His audience.
A person is answerable for what he had learned and need to choose. He can choose from two foundations where to build his house, to the big Rock or to the sand.
The rock speaks for Jesus Himself while the sand speaks for self-righteousness. In storms, the Rock would give strength; while the outcome of the second foundation is destruction. Thus hearing and doing Jesus’ words is wise; one who does not is acting brainless.
